Dear Oregon

Dear Oregon,

Thank you. Yesterday, for a brief hour, while you were pouring angry rain down on my head at the exact same time that I was loading/unloading and reloading/unloading three small children in and out of the car for our weekly trip to the market, I was cursing you and wondering what the heck we were thinking. You see...rain as a single person? No big deal. Rain with three small people and no attached garage? Somewhat troubling to me.

But, then you stopped dumping buckets of rain from the sky, the clouds parted, the sun shined brightly, my kid jumped in a huge puddle (with no coat needed) for at least 30 minutes with some neighbor friends and became totally drenched from head to toe, I opened up nearly half of the windows in the house for some much needed fresh air and it was beautiful...dare I say, perfect.

And while I know this won't be the last time I question our logic, thank you. Thank you for reminding me why we are here...just in the nick of time. You seem to have a way of doing that for me and I appreciate it. At least for now, I'm at peace. ;)

Sincerely,

Me.
